I have just paid something to download a PDF from Google Books which is scan of a reprint from Germany from 1992 of a book published in Germany in 1945. May I upload it to Archive.org, and if not, what happened if I did it anyway?

Does Google pay something to the publisher of the reprint? What is funny is that, at least for some books, it is much cheaper to buy the PDFs from the USA, or with a proxy in the USA, than from other countries.

I am sure that the Archive can take the scan in any case for its offline archiving.
